‘Batman V Superman’ Footage Revealed At CineEurope 2015, Ben Affleck Set To Direct Sequel ‘The Batman’?

Footage of the upcoming DC Comics film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was recently released at the CineEurope trade show. According to Design & Trend, Warner Bros. played a teaser trailer to the new movie during the event in Spain. At this time, it isn’t known if any new scenes were revealed or how much it differs from the official trailer.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luther.

Meanwhile, there have been reports surfacing that Affleck might be adding some directing duties to go along with acting in the next Batman movie. According to Latino-Review, not only will Affleck reprise his role as Batman in both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the two Justice League films, but he will also direct the upcoming standalone film, The Batman, which is expected to be released in a couple of years.

In addition to Affleck directing the new movie, he is thought to be enlisting Chris Terrio to help write the script for the new film. Affleck and Terrio have worked together in the past, including on the Academy Award-winning movie Argo. Further, Terrio did some screenwriting for Batman v Superman and is set to do the same for the Justice League movies.

Although official news concerning Affleck’s role in the upcoming films have not been announced, Warner Bros. and DC Comics are expected to break the news soon. According to Collider, the two companies might make the big announcement during the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego.

Meanwhile, Affleck is going to be very busy if he plans on both directing and acting in a new solo Batman film. On top of being in Batman v Superman, the Justice League films, and The Batman, the new caped crusader is also set to make an appearance in the upcoming Suicide Squad film.

As if those projects aren’t enough, Affleck’s next movie, The Accountant, is expected to be released in January of 2016, and his adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel Live by Night, which he is writing, directing, and starring in, is slated for an October 2016 premiere. With his schedule being so jam packed, it is likely that any Batman film wouldn’t be set to be released until 2017 or 2019.
