Little Person Acted Like Dalek In Bizarre Incident — Gets Tazed

A man who pretended to be a Dalek from the popular show Doctor Who was tazed by police in an incident that reportedly spun out of control. The Huffington Post reports that 55-year-old Ian Salter-Bromley was jailed after he threatened people who live in the same care home as him. He did it in a way that’s never been seen by police in Britain, however, and now he’s a bit of a social media star.

Ian Salter-Bromley reportedly impersonated a Dalek while threatening to kill one of the caregivers at the care home where he lives. The man, who lives with dwarfism, stands at about three feet tall. During a hearing in a Hull courtroom, it was revealed that the man stuck a suction-cupped dart to his forehead in an attempt to mimic the television villain. He allegedly put dominoes in his mouth and shouted the notorious catchphrase used by the Doctor Who characters.

“Exterminate! Exterminate!”

That’s not the only thing he did, however. He also reportedly threatened the life of one of the staff at the facility. He yelled at the staffer, who is apparently named Joe.

“I’m going to kill you, Joe.”

Police were called on the three-foot-tall man, and authorities entered his domicile, where he evidently resisted arrest. Apparently authorities in the U.K. felt it necessary to taze the man twice with a police-issued stun gun during the arrest. It’s unclear if the man was pretending to be a Dalek at the time of the tazing.

The Dalek incident is one of many incidents involving Salter-Bromley, who reportedly suffers from mental illness. However, this particular incident is going viral due to it involving Doctor Who and the Doctor’s most hated enemies (The Daleks). This may be one of Britain’s more bizarre arrests, but it’s not the first time someone has been arrested while impersonating a fictional character.

Last year police in Sydney, Australia, tried to arrest a man cosplaying as the Marvel character Deadpool because he appeared to be carrying a collection of deadly weapons. However, they later realized his weapons were fake. In 2013 a Japanese man dressed as a Stormtrooper was arrested for looking suspicious after someone earlier posted a tweet threatening mass murder at a train station. It was never confirmed if he was the one who made the tweet. Also in Japan, a man cosplaying as a Kancolle character was arrested after police thought he was a Naval Officer who had gone AWOL.
