Miley Cyrus Is A Pretty Sexy Vegetarian, According To PETA
To some, Miley Cyrus is many things. These days, she’s bisexual and genderfluid. Miley has also been called the “Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2015,” according to animal rights organization PETA.
Cyrus, 22, won the annual contest because of her “unflinching dedication to animal rights and her decision to go vegan.” The singer has fully committed herself to a vegan lifestyle and often shares the details about her dairy-free, meat-free, and sometimes gluten-free diet with her fans. Just two months ago, Cyrus shared a plate of delicious and colorful vegetables.
She included the caption, “The luxurious life of a vegetarian in LA…So many good plants/fruits/veggies toe at you ain’t gottttta eat dead animals! Everything that goes into my body is aliiiiivvvve! To keeeep ME alive! Love this life!”
Miley also revealed to Paper magazine that she wants to set a healthy example for her young fans. She tries to encourage her fans to embrace the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle.
In a statement on their website, PETA explained why they crowned Cyrus as the “Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity.”
“After hearing the heartrending song written for her beloved blowfish and reading about her unflinching dedication to animal rights and her decision to go vegan, PETA knew that Miley Cyrus isn’t just any sexy vegetarian celebrity — she’s the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2015!”
Miley is also for animal rights. Not only did she write a song for her deceased pet fish, Pablow, but earlier this year, she held a ceremony for her pet. Although it was difficult, Miley tried her best to sing the song during her touching tribute.
“On Saturday night, we all went out to eat / But I can never decide, so someone chose sushi / I got soup and I ordered rice / But watching my friends eat my [animal] friends ruined my appetite.”
Cyrus has also adopted a group of rescued dogs, a baby pet pig, and a kitten. Cyrus has even given her new kitten its own Instagram account.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer beat out hundreds of other celebrities on the list, including singer Ariana Grande, who she recently collaborated with on one of her backyard sessions for her Happy Hippie Foundation. She also beat out British singer Ellie Goulding and legendary icon and performer Prince.
Previous winners of PETA’s “Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity” contest include Andre 3000, Kristen Bell, Russell Brand, Jessica Chastain, Woody Harrelson, Jared Leto, Leona Lewis, Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, Alicia Silverstone, Shania Twain, and Carrie Underwood.
