WWE News: Backstage Update On Erick Rowan’s Injury, Length Of Time Out Revealed

It’s been said many times in the past few months, but the injury bug is surrounding the WWE right now. Tyson Kidd, Rusev, Hideo Itami, Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, Jey Uso, and possibly Ryback all succumbed to an injury in the past few months. On one hand, the PR for the WWE isn’t at its all-time high right now. Granted, nobody in the WWE is reckless. Accidents do happen.

For example, Tyson Kidd’s injury from Samoa Joe’s muscle buster move was described as a freak accident. Although Joe has remained safe his whole career, wrestling is a very dangerous sport. As we speak, Daniel Bryan is trying to recover from a career-threatening concussion.

Bryan got hurt the week after WrestleMania 31 in a match with Sheamus, who is also a safe worker. That’s why the WWE asks fans to not try this at home. Unfortunately, another WWE superstar fell to injury recently. Erick Rowan, a former member of the Wyatt Family, was injured at a house show last week. Until now, the diagnosis wasn’t known.

According to E-Wrestling News, Erick Rowan’s diagnosis was recently revealed, and we now know how long he will be on the shelf.

“According to sources, Erick Rowan suffered a torn biceps during his June 19th match with Cesaro in Saginaw, Michigan. The company expects him to miss around four months, but if he has to have surgery, he could easily miss upwards of six months.”

The report also goes on to say that Rowan and Luke Harper were in line for WWE Tag Team title shots in the future. After the breakup of the Wyatt Family, Luke Harper went his own way, including a feud for the Intercontinental championship. His match against Dolph Ziggler should be up for a “Match of the Year” award at the end of the year.

As for Tyson Kidd and Erick Rowan, that left two WWE tag teams out of the running for a title shot. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd were one of the best tag-teams in the WWE if not the best face team. As for Harper and Rowan, their camaraderie was undeniable. As a heel tag-team, Rowan and Harper were fantastic workers.

Right now, the WWE Tag Team took a toll without the two teams in the mix. This is where the WWE needs to take the young tag teams and push them to the top. The Lucha Dragons immediately come to mind. Kalisto and Sin Cara are over with the WWE fans, but the push isn’t there right now. The New Day, as well as Titus O’Neil and Darren Young, can’t carry the tag team division. New blood must come in while injuries are present.
