‘Teen Wolf’ Season 5 Spoilers: Answers About Parrish And Watch The New Opening Credits
The Teen Wolf season 5 premiere is only days away now – a two-night event on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30.
The latest news out about the MTV series’ new season includes a tease about what’s to come throughout the season for one character along with the new opening credits.
Not every show has opening credits. Some only have a title card, some keep the same the same credits for multiple seasons and others have an opening sequence that varies from season to season. MTV’s Teen Wolf falls into that last category, and Entertainment Weekly has posted the credits for season 5 (and you can watch them below), and there are a few key differences. First of all, as you should already know, Tyler Hoechlin is not going to be a series regular (though Derek is not necessarily gone from the show for good), so he’s not part of the sequence. Dylan Sprayberry (Liam) is. Also new to the opening sequence is a kiss between Scott and Kira. But the part that everyone is probably going to focus on is the presence of The Doctors, as they appear throughout the sequence. Are the Doctors who are dragging someone away between Holland Roden and Shelley Hennig?
The last shot of the sequence definitely fits in with what executive producer Jeff Davis told E! News about The Dread Doctors, who will be present for more than one season.
“There are a variety of influences on these guys, going back from German experiments on humans in World War II to the steampunk aesthetic, the gas-masks, and going back to Plague Doctors during the Bubonic plague. We drew on all those things, but this is actually one of the times were we did our own creating. We call them scientists who worship the supernatural and they have a very specific agenda in Beacon Hills and they are going to get in Scott’s way quite a bit.”
The Doctors are certainly going to be quite the enemy and have to be connected to Lydia’s warning in the premiere sneak peek that the Inquisitr previously posted that her friends are all going to die, right?
In other Teen Wolf season 5 news, E! Online has also shared a tease about Deputy Parrish, and if you’ve been (perhaps impatiently) waiting to find out what he is, answers will be coming soon.
“[You] will definitely discover a lot more about Parrish in the first half of the season. You might have to wait to know exactly what he is.”
The season 4 finale saw Parrish still wondering what he is – he was drawn to Beacon Hills and survived being burned alive – and one theory that has been brought up is that he’s a phoenix. Well, the time for theories is soon going to be over. What do you think Parrish is?
