Lionel Richie And Pamela Anderson Miss Income Tax Deadline

Lionel Richie, 62-year-old singer-songwriter well known for his time in Commodores and his #1 hit Truly, and Baywatch star Pamela Anderson both made California’s list of the top 500 biggest income-tax delinquents, a list which was published on Friday.

According to IRS documents obtained by E! Online, Richie owes a whopping $1.1 million in unpaid taxes to the federal government which has resulted in a lien against his assets having been issued. If the singer fails to pay his taxes in a timely manner, the federal government may seize his assets.

California state law requires tax authorities to publish and maintain a list of the 500 biggest tax delinquents twice a year. The tax board published a statement on their website which read:

“When taxpayers do not pay their fair share, it places an unfair burden on those who do.”

CNET co-founder Halsey Minor and his wife, Shannon, made the top of the list as they owe the state a whopping $10.5 million in personal income taxes.

Joe Francis, founder of Girls Gone Wild, owes the state $794,000.

Richie’s publicist and Anderon’s tax attorney were not immediately available for comment.

ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends won the ratings battle Friday night as the 2-hour music special hit 8.2 million viewers between 10 p.m. – 11 p.m. hour. After CBS came ABC, NBC, FOX, and The CW came in last place in the ratings.

Richie is currently on his 2012 Tuskegee Tour with the next schedule concert to be held in Dublin, Ireland on 9/24. His last show was held earlier this month in the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

What do you think about the considerable amount of unpaid taxes that Lionel and Pamela owe the government?
