Shia LaBeouf: 20 Stitches And 13 Staples After A Serious Head Injury Doesn’t Stop The Actor Or The Film

Shia LaBeouf has proved what a tough guy he is. The actor will be returning in a single day after sustaining, what many describe as, a serious head injury to the set of his new film, American Honey.

Shia LaBeouf suffered a head injury on the North Dakota set of his upcoming movie. However, the actor has decided to jump back into its production, preventing any major delay or setback of American Honey. According to TMZ, the star received 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head and finger.

Apparently, LaBeouf was required to put his head through a glass window. The early morning shoot somehow didn’t go as planned, and he cut himself. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. The doctors who attended Shia LaBeouf observed he had cuts to the left side of his head and his right index finger. Fortunately the lacerations weren’t deep, but they sure did require stitches as well as medical staples, which the doctors deftly handled.

It turns out Shia LaBeouf has already been discharged from the hospital. The actor will be resuming shooting of American Honey as soon as today, according to LaBeouf’s representative.

“Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, ‘American Honey.’ As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set [Thursday].”

American Honey is an indie drama, directed by Andrea Arnold, and also stars Arielle Holmes and McCaul Lombardi. It’s the story of a teenage girl who joins the sales crew of a travel magazine. The movie highlights how the girl gets caught up in the heady world of hard and serial partying and law bending. But she also finds love, presumably in the character played by Shia LaBeouf.

Shia LaBeouf is no stranger to accidents and serious injuries. In fact, the actor had informed Entertainment Weekly that, way back in 2008, his left hand might not completely heal after a bad car accident had severely injured it over nine months earlier. The actor has been injured in multiple locations while shooting for the Transformers movie series. Apart from the accidents, the actor is also well known for deliberately inflicting wounds so that they appear real in the movies. He reportedly cut up his own face for Fury, which also starred Brad Pit, and also stopped taking showers to better relate to his character.
