‘Boruto: Naruto The Movie’ Releases Full Length Trailer [Spoilers] [Video]

Last year, Naruto fans said goodbye to the series as the manga ended. At volume 700, Naruto: Shippuden was officially over, and all the kids we came to love were grown up. Pairings, that were both supported and despised by fans, became canon as several of the beloved Naruto characters got married and had kids of their own.

Hinata finally got her heart’s desire when she married Naruto. Together, they had a daughter, Hamiwari, and a son, aptly named Boruto (or Bolt in full English translations). Okay, maybe not so aptly named. But fans still like the rhyming aspect of it, though.

Now it is time for Boruto to get his own movie! A short trailer was released back in April, hinting at what Boruto’s story might be about.

Titled Boruto: Naruto the Movie, the new film, based on the recently released trailer, will focus on Boruto’s training. The young, blonde-haired boy is just as energetic and mischievous as his dad, it would seem. His goal, however, is not to become Hokage, but to surpass his own father. Or so he says. The trailer makes it seem as though what Boruto really wants is his father’s love.

Naruto is busy being Hokage, leaving Boruto to his own adventures. Though, for a young boy, this just spells trouble and he begins acting out to get attention (does this story line seem familiar?).

Based on the Boruto: Naruto the Movie trailer, we can draw one conclusion: It is really tough being the son of Naruto. So, Boruto seeks out Sasuke to teach him. Dad isn’t cool enough, or, presumably, not around enough, to teach Boruto himself.

Of course, there is the usual cast of characters. Well, the ones that didn’t die at least. Can we have a moment of silence for the shinobi that lost their lives during the great war?

Thank you.

The thing that stands out the most in the trailer is Gaara’s new hair. Seriously, what happened there? He looks weird.

In the end, after some obligatory high intensity fight scenes, it seems that the father and son reconcile. Boruto learns that his father still loves him. In an emotional scene where Boruto is crying, he calls Naruto “stupid dad,” which we all know means “I love you, dad!” in kidspeak.
