Newlyweds Win $15 Million: Stacy And David Foster Win Big In New Supreme Millions Game
A pair of newlyweds won $15 million from an instant scratch-off ticket in Massachusetts, and they are sharing a bit about their plans for the money. Stacy and David Foster may well still be in the honeymoon phase of their new marriage, but some might say the big lottery win is going to overshadow their memories of the big day, at least for a bit.
WCVB shares the details regarding the newlyweds’ $15 million win. David and Stacy Foster, who got married on May 1, happened to stop into the Tedeschi Food Shops store along Route 6 in Eastham, Massachusetts, on Saturday and decided to purchase a $30 Supreme Millions ticket. The ticket they initially chose was behind a closed register, so the clerk said they had to pick a different one by an active register. From the sounds of things, that closed register was a blessing in disguise for the couple.
Once the Fosters scratched off their newly-purchased ticket, they discovered they had won big. The two already claimed their prize and went with a lump-sum payment, which works out to be $9,750,000 after taxes. Just what will the newlyweds do with the $15 million win? They indicate that they hope to buy a house and a truck, as well as pay off some student loans.
According to the Boston Globe, the Fosters are the first-ever $15 million winners of the Supreme Millions instant game. Approximately 3 million tickets for the instant “scratch and win” game have been sold since the Supreme Millions began on April 28. Each ticket costs $30, and there are still 61 $1 million prizes and three $15 million prizes available. In addition, there will be 10 $1 million prizes given out in Supreme Millions Second Chance Drawings.
From the looks of the photos of the Cape Cod couple making the rounds, Stacy and David Foster are pretty thrilled and have a great sense of humor about their big win. Their initial plans of how to spend the money may be quite modest, but most would imagine they will soon come up with some fun ways to enjoy their winnings. If they didn’t embrace a luxurious honeymoon after their May wedding, they certainly have the means to do so now.
