WWE News: Vince McMahon And Kevin Dunn Not Backstage At ‘WWE RAW’ Taping On Monday

Did WWE RAW seem a bit different last night? There could be a reason for that. WWE RAW is usually controlled mostly by one man, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. He is the owner and extremely hands on. He rarely trusts people to do his job for him. However, he does have a second in command, which has usually been WWE Producer/Director Kevin Dunn.

What happens when neither man is present? Does the WWE world go down? Not exactly. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are now getting more responsibilities as they are slowly being put into position to take over WWE one day. Naturally, you have to give them opportunities to run the show.

Last night, according to the Wrestling Observer, neither Vince McMahon or Kevin Dunn were backstage at WWE RAW. That put Triple H in charge of the entire operation. This may be the first time he has had the opportunity to run WWE RAW without Vince McMahon being there. Since WWE RAW is the flagship program, Vince has always been anal about it.

Instead of being at RAW, both McMahon and Dunn were in Winter Park, Florida, at the Full Sail University studio, where WWE NXT tapes. This is where WWE Tough Enough is set to air from tonight, and every Tuesday for the next few months. They were there to help with the set-up for the show.

WWE RAW was slightly different with Triple H and Stephanie running it, but nothing was extremely different. More wrestling was seen, but at the same time we still go a lot of promo material. Storylines continued from the previous week, so nothing changed in a way where you were shocked to see a turn of events — except for the main event segment.

Brock Lesnar, known as a beast and conqueror, was beaten down by a reformed Authority. Seth Rollins, Kane, and J&J Security were back together to get the one up on Lesnar, and they did just that. Interestingly, Lesnar really hurt Jamie Noble when he drove him into the barrier during the attack. Noble has three broken ribs. This was why he was not present in the in-ring beatdown toward the end.

Regardless, it took four, then three, men to take down Lesnar. While we always see Brock as a beast, it made total sense to make him look human for the storyline. Making him look like an unstoppable monster is fine, but it gives away the story in the end. You have to add some doubt. While most will think Triple H did this or it was his idea, one could imagine that anything we saw on WWE RAW last night was called by Vince McMahon. Triple H just ran the plays.

It was a different type of show, but one has to wonder what will happen in WWE once Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have full control. It could be cool to see Vince McMahon working from the Stamford office while Triple H and Stephanie run the shows every week. However, we cannot expect this any time soon.
