Heather Dubrow On Brandi Glanville’s ‘RHOBH’ Departure: Audience Has ‘Bulls**t Meter’

Heather Dubrow believes that Brandi Glanville’s reported firing from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is because she stopped being real. During an interview with Jenny McCarthy for Jenny’s SiriusXM radio show, posted on Monday, Heather, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Orange County, remarked that the franchise’s audience can sense when someone’s putting on a show.

In response to whether she’s surprised that Brandi has been dropped, Heather said that viewers have a “bulls**t meter.”

“No, this is what I think. Honestly, people’s storylines come to an end sometimes and it’s time to move on. I also feel like the audience really has a… I think the audience has a bulls**t meter and I feel like when you come on and you start having really self-produced shows that, you know, the audience senses it, then it’s time to move on.”

Jenny then asked Heather how she has been able to avoid being “a s**t-starter” on her show. Jenny said that Brandi remarked that for her first year of doing Real Housewives, she was her most authentic self because she hadn’t yet figured out who her persona was supposed to be or who people perceived her as.

“I don’t think that’s my nature…To me that [Brandi’s comment] is the exact wrong thing to say. What I will tell you about me is that I’m the exact opposite. I was so freaked out about being on the show that I was this buttoned-up, pu**iest version of myself that existed, for the first two seasons. And then I got comfortable and then last season I was like working scripted and I was co-hosting Good Day L.A. and I have four kids and I’m building a house and, you know, I was shooting the show and Terry was gone doing Botched and I was like discombobulated and thought I was smarter than what was going on in the show and I was trying to work it and it failed miserably. So this season I just went, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna release it, I’m gonna let it all go.’ I surrendered and I think that’s why this season, if you’re watching this season, I’m more relaxed.”

Heather revealed that she didn’t actually want to do The Real Housewives of Orange County, but her husband, Terry Dubrow, realizing how beneficial it could be for them, pushed her to do it.

“What’s interesting, for me, is that when I joined the show, it was like, I had never seen the show before, I didn’t know any of these girls. So they just like threw me in there, and of course coming from scripted I felt like, ‘This is a step down, this is going to be the last nail in the coffin that was my career.’ Terry actually signed the contracts, I didn’t even want, I refused to do it…I didn’t have Terry’s vision for the platform.”

Brandi may not appreciate Heather’s comment about her, especially since Brandi once publicly defended Terry. In August of 2014, after viewers watched Terry blast newcomer Shannon Beador’s husband, David Beador, with Heather backing him up, the couple received a lot of backlash. Brandi took to Twitter to defend Terry.

It remains to be seen whether it’s really true that Brandi Glanville has been dropped from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While numerous sites, citing sources, have confirmed that Brandi won’t be returning for Season 6, at least as a starring housewife, Bravo has yet to confirm it. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Brandi has stated that the decision is both hers and Bravo’s to make. She didn’t clarify whether her decision extends only to whether she’ll appear on the next season as a recurring housewife or make guest appearances.
