Josh Duggar Thanks Dad In Video: ‘We’ve Never Claimed To Be A Perfect Family’ Says Jessa [Video]


Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna, released a Father’s Day video on the Duggar family YouTube channel, in which he thanks his dad, Jim Bob, for being “there for us through the hard times and through the good times.” Anna Duggar is currently expecting the couple’s fourth child any day now.

In the video, Josh reminisces about the times he spent with his dad and thanks him for those experiences, whether they were working on cars or learning about construction, reports the New York Daily News.

“I know that your investment in each one of our lives is priceless and we’re so grateful for you and I’m grateful that you’re the grandpa … to your grandkids and we’re just so grateful for your investment in our life,” he added, in thanks for everything his dad has done for him. “Happy Father’s Day.”

This is Josh’s first public appearance since it was revealed that the dad of four molested teenage girls, including his sisters, when he was a teenager. He’s circumnavigated the scandal, and throughout it all his family has stuck with him. On May 21, Josh Duggar issued a statement apologizing for his “inexcusable actions” for molesting five teenage girls, including his sisters, reports the Daily Mail.

“He made some bad choices, but really the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping,” Jessa Seewald, Duggar’s sister, 22, said on Fox NewsThe Kelly File, reports the New York Daily News. “We’ve never claimed to be a perfect family.”

Jill was 12 when the inappropriate touching took place, and told reporters she felt sad “and shocked” when Josh violated her and her sister. But the Duggar clan has stuck together, with both victims calling the inappropriate touching “subtle” and “mild.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it’s rumored that Josh Duggar has removed himself from 19 Kids and Counting, with hopes that the show will not be canceled. According to The Daily News, the Duggars returned to Arkansas after Duggar quit his job with conservative Christian nonprofit Family Research Center in Washington, D.C. in the wake of his scandal.

To celebrate the holiday, dad Jim Bob posted a snap on Instagram of the Duggar clan, Josh and Anna included, celebrating over lunch. “Father’s Day lunch yesterday! Need to exercise!” he posted.

At the end of the video, Josh Duggar thanks his dad again, while wife Anna thanks him “for raising such an awesome husband.”
