British singing sensation Sam Smith looks like a shadow of his former self. Sam turned up at the British Summer Time festival at London’s Hyde Park over the weekend to show off his new slimline look. According to the Mirror Sam has been on a strict fitness regime for the past few months and it looks like it is paying off.
The “Stay With Me” singer Smith showcased his new slender look in black skinny jeans and a matching T-shirt as he walked around the backstage area looking fit and relaxed. Apparently, Smith has lost almost 50 pounds in weight over a three-month period. Sam credits nutritional therapist Amelia Freer for “changing his life.”
As well as showcasing his new look, Sam also made a welcome return to the stage, but sadly, it seems that Smith is not yet ready to sing. Smith was recently forced to cancel his Australian tour and a host of festival appearances after he suffered a hemorrhage on his vocal chords. Smith failed to recover from the hemorrhage by resting his voice and had to undergo surgery to repair the damage. Thankfully, Sam seems to have made a full recovery and he has re-booked his Australian shows.
Whilst Sam did not sing, he did make an appearance onstage with disco and soul legend Nile Rogers. Sam joined Rogers and model Cara Delevingne and her sisters onstage for a boogie. It seems that Sam is a big fan as he posed back stage for photos and later took to twitter to share his excitement with his followers.

It seems that the admiration is mutual, as Smith and Rogers shared Twitter love. Nile even complimented Smith on his weight loss saying that Sam “looks awesome at this weight.”

Sam threw the compliments straight back saying that Nile Rogers was “the loveliest man ever.”
According to UTV, Sam’s fans will not have to wait too much longer to hear their hero sing again. Smith is due to return to the stage for his first show since his surgery early next month. Smith will play at the Forest Live festival in Suffolk on July 3. Smith will no doubt be looking forward to getting back to singing after what must have been a trying few months.
In other Sam Smith news NME reports that both Smith and Disclosure have teased fans that there may be another collaboration between the acts in the near future. Disclosure teased a picture of Smith with their trademark facial outline mask. Smith shared the same image shortly afterwards.
