‘RHOBH’ Star Kim Richards Lands In Another Rehab Facility, Will The 90-Day Program Work?

Real Housewives of Beverley Hills star Kim Richards is taking another stab at rehab in an effort to get clean. The reality star’s current stay at rehab marks her third such stint in recent months, and according to an inside source, she is willing to try it out for 90 days.

“Although she knows that she can stay as long as she needs, 90 days was recommended for her because three months will give her a solid base to sobriety,” the source explained to Radar Online. “But 90 days is just to start. She could do more.”

Richards began her latest rehab stay at the rehab facility on June 10. The star agreed to begin her first rehab treatment following a disastrous public intoxication ordeal at the Beverly Hills Hotel that led to charges of resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. However, Richards soon relapsed and had another embarrassing debacle during her daughter’s wedding in Mexico last month. Following that event, Richards stayed for a short period at a mental health facility before committing to her 90 day stay.

Despite her willingness to get clean following her bouts of self-destructive behavior, Richards’ latest rehab is starting out a little rough. “Kim has not been participating in the group activities here,” the source stated. “She has not been especially nice to the other patients and has managed to seclude herself as much as possible.”

However, the source also indicated that Kim Richards’ behavior is what most people go through when first trying to get clean. “This is quite normal for people who enter treatment though and it will most likely change when she starts to recover and trust the process a little more.”

Meanwhile, Richards’ behavior in the past few months has reportedly led to her dismissal on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. According to multiple sources, producers of the show have little interest in signing Richards for Season 6 of the reality show.

Although producers at Bravo have remained quiet in regards to Richards’ future on the show, an inside source told Us Weekly that producers are not considering Richards until she gets the help she needs.

“The RHOBH producers really have no interest in bringing her back to the show. Kim needs to get help and it needs to happen outside of the show … There’s no interest in putting her back on television unless she’s addressed her issues. The show didn’t trigger her addiction — and her recovery also needs to happen outside of it.”

After rehab, Kim Richards may appear on her sister’s, Kyle’s, new comedy on TV Land, but no appearances have been confirmed.
