Mel Gibson conveys his antisemitism quite clearly through vulgarity directed towards the Jewish faith, John Lennon and even his former girlfriend, Grogorieva. Joe Eszterhas, writer of a screenplay about a Jewish hero named Judah Maccabee, recalls countless numbers of incidents of slander found in a nine page letter posted to a Gibson funded website.

The response letter from Gibson denies any involvement and says “most the claims are fabricated.” His letter goes onto say Eszterhas “only had a problem with me after Warner Brothers rejected your (Eszterhas) script.” Gibson also claims that the decision to reject his script was based entirely on the quality and not any other reason.

Alan Nierob, a spokesman of Gibson, gave a copy of the letter to CNN and requested no further comments for the time being. Warner Bros. has placed the Judas project on a hiatus while they “are analyzing what to do with the project,” says spokesman Paul McGuire. In response, Eszterhas replies in his letter:

“I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make ‘The Maccabees’ is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews.”

“The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”

“John Lennon deserved to be shot.”
