Is Britney Spears A More Dedicated Dog Owner Than Lady Gaga?
Britney Spears and Lady Gaga tend to parade around with their pet pooches all the time. However, Spears may have just proven to be the most dedicated dog owner ever. TMZ has the news.
“Brit dropped $24,720 in 2014 on pet care. And get a load of the breakdown — $14,720 on pet sitting, $300 a pop for the groomer, 12 visits to the animal hospital totaling more than $4k.”
TMZ revealed some of her other expenses: $15,270 on meals/entertainment and $71,629 on grooming/wardrobe. She also spent $4,000 on Halloween decorations and another $6,000 on various other holiday decorations. It’s good to be Britney Spears.
But let’s get back to the dogs. In 2013, Social News Daily reported that Spears gave her dog a Twitter account.
“Through the magic of social media, Britney and Hannah Spears chat back and forth about a wide array of interesting topics. Previous subjects include squeak toys, dog schools, and which publications aren’t worthy of pooping on. Spoiler alert: It’s the National Enquirer.”
It’s a good thing that Britney Spears is enjoying her pets so much; her record sales as of late have been dismal. In 2013, Spears released Britney Jean and the album was virtually ignored. The Wrap broke the news last year on Britney’s awful album sales.
“Britney Spears’ new studio album — her eighth — debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart Wednesday, selling 107,000 copies. That’s even lower than industry analysts predicted.”
The Wrap went on to note that Spears’ previous album, 2011’s Femme Fatale, sold 276,000 units during its first week of release. Britney experienced quite a drop, but record sales have dropped a lot for everybody over the past few years. Britney Spears was hoping that if she hired Iggy Azalea to sing a duet with her, she would score a hit. Unfortunately, “Pretty Girls” dropped down to No. 70 this week on Billboard‘s Hot 100. It’s only been out for six weeks.
Britney Spears’ Las Vegas residency is what is actually saving her career. The shows have received good reviews and tickets have been selling so well that another bunch of dates were recently added. Of course, not everything has been perfect with the residency as Spears fell during one of the performances in May and had to cancel a couple of shows as a result of the injury.
It’s great to know that no matter what direction Britney’s career is going in, she’ll always be able to take care of her dogs. Let’s hope they give Britney Spears the same love that Britney gives her fans.
