George Zimmerman’s Lawyer To Ask For Bail

George Zimmerman’s lawyer will ask for bail on Thursday following Zimmerman’s arrest on second-degree murder charges after he killed unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin.

Speaking about his clients bail high-profile attorney Mark O’Mara said:

“My hope is that the judge will grant a bond, and that it’ll be a bond that the family can make. They are not a family of means.”

O’Mara points out that having Zimmerman remain in the area could be the hardest trick of all to pull off since:

“I think nobody would deny the fact if George Zimmerman is walking down the street today, he would be at risk.”

Alleged bounties have been taken out on Zimmerman’s head however those bounties seemed to stem from the fact that George Zimmerman had never been arrested for the shooting of Trayvon Martin, while his life may still be in danger his attorney hopes that people will now move on because a proper trial is being given to Zimmerman.

Before an arrest warrant was even issued Zimmerman, 28, had been in hiding, fearing for his life. Zimmerman only emerged from hiding so he could turn himself in to authorities.

Zimmerman will make his initial court appearance on Thursday before Judge Mark Herr where he will plead “not guilty” to the second-degree murder charge.

It’s still not clear if the bond request will even be heard on Thursday however O’Mara claims that Zimmerman is needed outside of jail to assist in his defense.

In the meantime protests continue all over the country both against Zimmerman and “Stand Your Ground” type laws which are now being taken completely into question.
