Miley Cyrus gave a playful nod to her Disney past as she was seen leaving her Soho House in New York City on Wednesday, June 17. The 22-year-old singer was all smiles as she left her place in an edgy Snow White jacket paired with denim cutoffs and fishnet stockings. Cyrus wasn’t completely alone on her travels. She was seen leaving her apartment with Wayne Coyne, 54, frontman of The Flaming Lips.
The zany singer received a lot of attention for her bright and colorful look. Cyrus’ jacket didn’t just give a playful nod to her Disney past. It also reportedly featured some drug and psychedelic references. Cyrus reportedly gave everyone a message that she’s no longer that girl who starred in the successful Disney series, Hannah Montana.
Miley’s motorcycle jacket, which was already emblazoned with Disney cartoon characters, psychedelic art, and hippie references, also featured a hip-hop reference on the back. Her jacket read, “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard” from Kelis’ hit song “Milkshake.” Perez Hilton cleverly noted that Miley’s jacket should’ve said, “My Milkshake brings all the Dwarves to the yard.”
The singer paired her already colorful outfit with a rainbow beaded necklace and emerald green purse. Cyrus also wore white tennis sneakers and bows in her hair. The singer also made time for her fans, as she stopped for photos. Cyrus has always been kind when it comes to her always dedicated fandom.
Miley Cyrus may be “embarrassed” by her Disney past, but it still gave her a household name. She starred on Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011. Since then, Cyrus has tried to market herself as an edgy pop star.
