Ed Sheeran Shares Video On Instagram Of Himself Rapping To Eminem Song

It wasn’t long ago that Ed Sheeran gave a speech crediting Eminem with helping him to overcome his stutter. Now, less than 10 days later, Sheeran has shared a video of himself rapping to one of Eminem’s songs.

In the video, which Ed Sheeran shared to Instagram, Sheeran can be seen rapping Eminem’s “Kill You” in what appears to be a dressing room. The video was posted just a few hours before Sheeran’s show in Calgary.

In the video, Sheeran flails about wildly, rapping and eventually spilling a cup of liquid. As Sheeran continues to rap, he quickly and wildly grabs a towel to mop of the spilled liquid.

On June 8, Ed Sheeran gave a speech to the American Institute for Stuttering’s Free Voices Changing Lives Benefit Gala in New York City, where he said that Eminem helped him to overcome a stutter he developed as a young child. The stutter developed as part of a botched medical procedure, Sheeran told the audience.

“I had a port-wine stain birthmark on my face that I got lasered off when I was very young; one day, they forgot to put the anesthetic on, and ever since then, I had a stutter.”

Sheeran went on to say that, when he was 9-years-old, his father gave him copy of The Marshall Mathers LP, not knowing exactly what was on the album.

“I learned every word of it back to front by the time I was 10. And he raps very fast and very melodically and very percussively and it helped me get rid of the stutter.”

Sheeran, now 24-years-old, is a British crooner known for songs such as “Don’t,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Photograph.” He is currently on a North American tour promoting his most recent album, titled x.

While touring the United States and Canada, Sheeran has made news with quirky interviews, a stop to Madame Tussauds wax museum, and fun fan surprises.

In addition to talking about Eminem during his speech at the gala, Sheeran also talked about the importance of young people staying true to themselves.

“Just be yourself. Embrace your quirks,” Sheeran said.

After so much hype about the ways in which Eminem has helped him, it’s kind of fun to see Ed Sheeran kick back and have fun with Eminem’s song all while embracing his own quirks.
