Tyra Banks looks hot, hot, hot without makeup, and fans let her know it when she posted an unaltered selfie on Instagram. The model has made her career on her looks, but she thought it was time for fans to “see the real me”.
Fans — including Perez Hilton himself — loved Tyra free of makeup, and blew up social media, thanking the former talk show host and star of America’s Next Top Model for showing how she looks makeup-free.
You know how people say #nofilter but you know there's a freakin' filter on their pic? Or maybe there's a smidge of retouching going on but they're lying and saying it's all raw & real? Well, this morn, I decided to give you a taste of the really real me. I wanted to smooth out my dark circles so badly!!! But I was like, "Naw, Ty. Show 'em the REAL you." So…here I am. Raw. And there YOU are…looking at me, studying this picture. Maybe you're thinking, "Whoa, she looks ROUGH." And if you are, great! You deserve to see the REAL me. The REALLY real me. #RawAndReal
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Banks captioned the Instagram photo with, “You know how people say #nofilter but you know there’s a freakin’ filter on their pic? Or maybe there’s a smidge of retouching going on but they’re lying and saying it’s all raw & real? Well, this morn, I decided to give you a taste of the really real me.”
Fans reacted not only on Tyra’s Instagram page, posting over 6,000 comments and giving her 99,000 likes, but on Twitter as well to tell Tyra their thoughts about the snap of Tyra missing her makeup. “I love you @tyrabanks SO MUCH 4 doing this! Every1 really does deserve to know that natural beauty is real & exists,” wrote one crazed and grateful fan. “High five to @tyrabanks for showing what #nofilter actually means #yougogirl,” tweeted another.

Perez Hilton even got in on the praise about a makeup-free Tyra Banks, tweeting to his six million followers, “GORG! RT @tyrabanks shares a makeup free selfie — and it is EVERYTHING!!”
Not everyone was thrilled with the photo of Banks missing her makeup, however, with one fan posting, “It’s crazy how lighting makes the difference between you looking like Tyra Banks and a Gringotts goblin.”
While Tyra recognized that she “looks rough” in the photo, she also fended off the negative comments she expected, reports US Weekly. “I wanted to smooth out my dark circles so badly!!! But I was like, ‘Naw, Ty. Show ’em the REAL you.’ So… here I am. Raw. And there YOU are… looking at me, studying this picture. Maybe you’re thinking, ‘Whoa, she looks ROUGH.’ And if you are, great! You deserve to see the REAL me. The REALLY real me. #RawAndReal.”

Us Weekly reports that this isn’t the first time Tyra Banks confronted critics about her self-image, and how the media uses makeup to show a different Tyra. In 2008, Tyra illustrated just how magazines will use makeup, lighting, and photoshop to alter her image. She appeared on The Tyra Banks Show wearing a one-piece swimsuit that she had been photographed in — noting that she looked 40 pounds heavier in the swimsuit.
Tyra Banks told fans at the time, echoing her Instagram photo free of makeup, “I felt like this picture is so outrageous that I wanted to do something equally as outrageous by standing here, extremely vulnerable in this same swimsuit next to this photo. And I feel that it is so sad that I have to go to this extreme, but I’m doing it to prove a point.”
