First Drink At 23 For NBA Champion Harrison Barnes Of The Golden State Warriors
Fresh off a 105-97 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes celebrated his first NBA championship with his first sip of alcohol. What’s most interesting is that Barnes is 23-years-old, a full two years over the legal age here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

TSN’s asked Harrison Barnes if he’d ever drank alcohol before. Championship champagne was first drink, he said.

Some people tweeted out comments regarding Barnes and his first drink.
Andre Iguadala has never had a drop of alcohol and Harrison Barnes had his first drink last night lol that’s somewhat shocking

Breitbart reported that Barnes’ mother is especially proud of her son, not only for being an NBA champion, but for also following the Word of the Lord.
“One of my proudest moments was when [Harrison] was in third grade. He was the only person in our church to go to Sunday school 52 weeks consecutively and he got an award for that. I think that is the only time any person has ever done that.”
Throughout the six-game NBA Finals series, Harrison averaged 8.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while playing in 32.9 minutes per game.
Before enjoying his first glass of champagne, Barnes was selected by the Warriors as the seventh overall pick out of the University of North Carolina. Coming into college, Harrison was hyped as the No. 1 prospect in the nation for the class of 2010, and many considered him to be the next LeBron James. After his subpar freshman season at UNC, Barnes returned for his sophomore year, where he improved dramatically enough to declare himself eligible for the 2012 NBA Draft.
Here are his two-year statistics while at UNC, from GoHeels.
