Swedish Royal Baby: Princess Madeleine Gives Birth To Bouncing Baby Boy
A new Swedish royal baby has been born! According to People Magazine, Princess Madeleine gave birth to a bouncing baby boy on June 15, the babe weighing in at 6.7 lbs. The royal family has not yet released the name of their son, who officially made Princess Leonore, 16 months, a big sister.
The first photo of the new baby has already been released.

“It went very well. I think [Leonore] mistook him for a doll. But it couldn’t have gone any better,” Madeleine’s husband, and new dad, Christopher O’Neill, told the crowds of people waiting for news.
According to Us Weekly, an official statement announcing the baby boy’s birth was made by the official Facebook page of Kungahuset.
“The Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that HRH Princess Madeleine gave birth to a son on June 15 at 1:45 p.m. Both mother and child are in good health. Svante Lindqvist, Marshal of the Realm.”
The Swedish royal baby news comes on the heels of the birth of British Princess, Charlotte. The little girl was born on May 2 to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Kate Middleton). People have become absolutely obsessed (in the best way possible) with royal families from all different nations, though the British royals do seem to more popular in the U.S. — but that could always change. The more people learn about the royal Swedish blood, the more they seem to want to know.
This past weekend, for instance, the royal wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist made headlines all over the world. As previously reported by the Inquistr, many people couldn’t help comparing Sofia (who is now officially a princess) to Kate Middleton. Not only do the women both have dark hair and striking features, but Sofia’s wedding gown was reminiscent of Kate’s.
Princess Madeleine, Christopher O’Neill, and their daughter attended the Swedish royal wedding over the weekend. It’s unknown if Madeleine gave birth on or near her due date.
The Swedish royal baby will be named soon, and that information will likely go viral. It is unknown if Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill plan to have any more children. The little boy is sixth in the line of succession of the throne. He is the third grandchild for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
