‘One Man Party’ Causes Dwayne Johnson To Ram Into Parked Truck — Thankfully, Driver Is A Fan

For some reason, it’s news when a celebrity like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson acts like a decent human being. When he sideswiped a parked truck on Monday, he did what any normal person would do — he copped to his mistake.

But in the realm of celebrity, perhaps such good deeds aren’t the norm. One man, at least, was shocked — Audie Bridges, whose truck was struck by the action star, E! Online reported.

The incident happened Monday in Wakefield, Mass. Johnson was on his way to work — the set for his upcoming film, action comedy Central Intelligence, the New York Daily News reported.

Dwayne was having a “one man party in my truck” — apparently playing some music — when he heard a sound every driver dreads. The tell-tale thump that can only mean one thing — he hit something.

So, Dwayne “flipped a U-turn and drove back” to find he’d sideswiped a truck parked on the side of the street, demolishing its side mirror. At the scene of the crime, Johnson was immediately approached by Bridges. The actor asked him if the vehicle he’d just accidentally rammed into was his. As anyone might do in that situation, Audie was speechless for a good five seconds. Then he admitted the truck was his.

And the Rock confessed to what he’d done, asked for his info, and offered to pay for the damage, Dwayne wrote on Instagram, Access Hollywood reported.

“He stared at me again, cocked his head sideways and said… ‘Uhhh… Are you The Rock?’ I said ‘Yup’. He broke out into a huge smile and said ‘Wow, this is gonna be an awesome story!… I started belly laughing at that, then he started laughing and before you know it we’re both standing in the middle of the street pointing to his mirror and laughing like two ol’ crazy buddies.”

Much to Audie’s surprise, a photo of the two landed on the actor’s Instagram with a description of the funny story. He heard about that a couple days later, since he’s not even on the social media site.

By then, Johnson had followed up with him, but Bridges refused the actor’s offer to pay for his truck repair. The damage was already fixed.

The interaction not only proves that while Dwayne Johnson is a famous millionaire and blockbuster actor, he’s still just a decent guy who knows enough to do the right thing when it’s called for.

It’s also proves that celebs put their pants on — or hit parked cars — the same as everyone else.

“Life is funny cause you never know who you’re gonna run into… and sure as hell never know whose truck you’re gonna sideswipe while driving to work.”
