‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spoilers Ask ‘Who Is Charles?’ And The Answer May Be Shocking [Video]

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Pretty Little Liars.

Who is Charles? That’s the question Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), and Hanna (Ashley Benson) are each trying to answer on Pretty Little Liars, and it’s the greatest mystery PLL fans everywhere are also trying to solve. The liars will definitely be dealing with a full plate when Pretty Little Liars picks up with “Songs of Experience” this Tuesday, and the girls will still be dealing with the aftermath of their kidnapping experiences, but the focus of the episode will really be to deal with the identity of Charles.

Since the last episode of Pretty Little Liars revealed that the girls didn’t believe “all the information they’ve been told” up to this point, this situation will leave the girls (and PLL fans) to discover the identity of Charles DiLaurentis through their own investigations.

As many PLL fans have already realized, the search for Charles must ultimately begin and end with the DiLaurentis family. No, Mr. DiLaurentis wasn’t much help and, even if he was just lying to save face, it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be coming clean anytime soon on Pretty Little Liars. That leaves the liars with two sources for information: Alison, who has already denied knowing anything about a Charles DiLaurentis, and Jason. It seems like the Pretty Little Liars writers are opening up the door for Drew Van Acker’s return as Jason, making him an integral part of upcoming episodes in this season of Pretty Little Liars.

“Jason always said that something was missing from this family” Alison reveals in the teaser for this week’s Pretty Little Liars episode.

Meanwhile, PLL fans may have been on to something this past week, particularly those PLL theorists latching onto the idea that Sara is much more significant than a simple red herring thrown into the Pretty Little Liars mix to distract the PLL audience. In fact, it was brought to the attention of viewers of Pretty Little Liars that Sara Harvey isn’t a new character at all and that she has been involved almost from the very beginning.

Sara was first revealed as the girls discovered that Alison was still alive in season four of Pretty Little Liars. Later on in that episode, Emily and Hanna met up with Sara’s friends, trying to find more out about the missing girl. As the girls learned more, it soon became apparent that much of Sara’s life mirrored Alison’s life, including the fact that both girls have had tendencies to be mean to their peers. It seems that could be a personality trait shared between siblings.

In last week’s Pretty Little Liars episode, PLL fans also took note of Sara’s appearance and how closely she resembled Alison, leading some PLL theorists to suggest the similarities between Sara and Alison might be more than mere coincidence. Could Sara be the missing DiLaurentis link?

Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays on ABC Family.
