Woody Harrelson claims he mistook TMZ photographer for a zombie

Woody Harrelson is in the news again for attacking yet another photographer, but his defense this time is completely unique.
Harrelson clashed with a photographer from TMZ.com at a New York airport Wednesday night, damaging the photographers camera. But Harrelson claims that he thought the photographer was a zombie.
“I wrapped a movie called ‘Zombieland,’ in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character,” Harrelson said in a statement. “With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie.”
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is investigating the incident and said that it would pass it on police if it was deemed to require further action.
Harrelson is currently the subject of a lawsuit from another TMZ.com photographer he attacked outside a Los Angeles nightclub in 2006.

Why is it always assault against the victim who is being harrassed, pushed, and having a photographer stick a camera in their faces? These guys are supposed to be professional photographers? So why do they have to get so close? All states should pass a law that a photographer cannot get within 10 feet of their living subject matter. There is absolutely no reason for a photographer to get within arms length of their subject. The only reason they do is to provoke a response to make more money one their photos. It's no secret. The photographer should be charged with harrassment, etc. You see it all the time with a photographer or interviewer sticking a camera or mic in their subjects faces, pushing them back to get them to stay in the shot (like the Madoff video). I could go on and on. Wake up people. See who the real victim is here. I would have anger issues if I was treated like these idiots treat the people they hope to make money off of for their photos.

Idiot. I'm embarrassed for him, as he doesn't seem to have a clue.

The press needs laws to keep them many feet away from another human. TMZ is ridiculous. I am NO fan of Harrelson's but God when is it gonna stop? I'd have broken the camera too and probably the face of the jerk. It gets old old old so get out of their face. He had his child with him and it doesn't matter if she is 8 or 18, you need some rules to teach ya all manners.
