Sonic 4: Episode II Coming to PSN, XBLA Next Month

Sega first announced Sonic 4: Episode II back in December of last year, and now, a little over two years after the release of Sonic 4: Episode I, we know when the game will be coming out.

In yet another GameSpot-exclusive reveal, Sega showed off a new trailer for Sonic 4: Episode II that reveals that the fast-paced side-scrolling platformer will be making its way to just about every platform under the sun–and there will be a bonus up for grabs.

If you purchased the original game at any point over these past 2 years, you’ll be able to unlock Metal Sonic in Sonic 4: Episode II for free in by way of the “Episode Metal” content. Aside from letting you play as Metal Sonic, the content also offers four “exclusive” levels. It’s not clear at this point if this content will be sold separately for those who didn’t pick up the first game.

Sonic 4: Episode II will first be making its way to PlayStation Network on May 15, with an Xbox Live Arcade following just one day later on May 16. The Blue Blur will then be making his way to iOS and PC at some undisclosed point in May, with an Android and Windows Phone release following in June and July, respectively.

You can catch the reveal trailer in the video below, or you can head over to this link to watch the reveal in the latest episode of GameSpot’s “On the Spot.”
