Instagram Has A Totally New Look, Copyright Loopholes, And Celebrity Secrets

If you’ve been on desktop version of Instagram lately, you probably noticed that it has a new look. Those who use the mobile and tablet versions of the popular social media and photo-sharing app won’t be aware of the new design.

The new desktop version of Instagram is dramatically different with its stark white layout. It also displays your photos one image at a time and includes lots of white space in the middle. Some fans have already remarked their distaste with Instagram’s new design.

The update is not just happening to the desktop version. It’s also coming to the mobile version of Instagram. It will also include the same header-less profile design and three columns of images. Instagram wanted to include a dramatic visual effect that includes a three-column grid rather than the traditional five-column desktop grid.

There’s a reason for the new Instagram desktop design. The people behind the social media app wanted to create a different experience for desktop users. Previously, the five-column images were sometimes too small to see, so users would have to click on them in order to see them. There’s also another reason why Instagram upgraded to a new design: ads. As previously reported on the Inquisitr, there has been talk that the photo-sharing app wants to include more advertising and marketing across when it comes to searching for photos or merely browsing through the feed.

Instagram also has copyright loopholes. If you’re a photographer who shares your work on the app, then you may have a hard time protecting it. Emily Wang realized that one of her followers was stealing her photos and Photoshopping them. Emily reported the incident to Instagram and eventually had the photos removed, but it required her months of reporting every single incident to the company. Long story short, Instagram offers little support when it comes to copyrighting images and having them stolen.

Instagram states, “On the platform, if someone feels that their copyright has been violated, they can report it to us and we will take appropriate action. Off the platform, content owners can enforce their legal rights.”

What other secrets are there to know about Instagram? When it comes to celebrities, social media managers are getting paid six figures to create their funny posts. And unsurprisingly, behind Taylor Swift and Beyonce’s photos there is a team of professionals that make them look perfect. Also, celebrities use Instagram not only to stay hip and relevant, but to make some money on the side. They incorporate the use of hashtags and products to make a profit on their Instagram accounts.
