Fans can watch the Mexico vs. Bolivia soccer match live online and see if one of the two dark horse candidates to win the 2015 Copa America can kick off the tournament with a win.

The teams will each play their opening game and face off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

While last year’s World Cup runner-up, Argentina, is the favorite to win the nation’s first Copa America in more than two decades, Mexico is seen as a dark-horse candidate to win the title.

But those who watch the Mexico vs. Bolivia soccer match live online will see an El Tri team described as a “B Squad.” Mexico’s coach, Miguel Herrera, has decided to focus on the Gold Cup later this summer and will be leaving out European stars Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Carlos Vela, Hector Herrera, Andres Guardado, and Hector Moreno.

Herrera said his team will still be able to compete for the 2015 Copa America title.

“I’ve never talked about an A selection or a B selection,” he said, via Medio Tiempo. “This team is put together to reach the final. We’ll give a few teams a scare and, while we’ll face tough opponents, we’ll be a different team than we were in the last edition.”

But as BBC Sport pointed out, Mexico’s decision to focus on the Gold Cup could make it a difficult run.

“Mexico are fielding a second-string squad as many of their big names – including Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and former Spurs forward Gio dos Santos – are in their squad for the Gold Cup later this summer, the competition in which countries from North and Central America, and the Caribbean compete.”

BBC Sport also noted in a preview to the Copa America that the tournament is wide open and any team can step in and win.

“There are two explanations for the fact the Copa can be difficult to forecast. One is the format of the competition; eight of the 12 teams qualify for the knockout phase, where, this year, extra time will not be played in the quarter or semi-finals.

“There is room, then, for what Paraguay did in the last Copa four years ago, when they reached the final without winning a single game.”

Mexico has never won the Copa America and would be seeking a second international federation trophy to go with their victory in the 1999 Confederations Cup.
