‘Chocolate City’ On BET: Ruckus On Twitter Over Black Male Stripper Movie
Look out, Magic Mike XXL, here comes Chocolate City. If folks online went crazy when the trailer for Magic Mike XXL hit the web, viewers are definitely going crazy on Twitter over the BET movie called Chocolate City.
According to Essence, Chocolate City first hit movie theaters less than one month ago. And now Chocolate City has made its way to BET, and fans are having quite the reaction tweeting about the male stars. With famous male forms like Tyson Beckford and Michael Jai White filling the bill, it’s no wonder there’s a big ruckus over the film.
Robert Ri’chard also joins DeRay Davis, Darrin Dewitt Henson and Vivica A. Fox in Chocolate City, which attempts to give a peek into the world of mainly African-American male stripping. As go the theme of most stripping movies, Ri’chard stars as Michael, a guy who can’t make ends meet even while working hard for a paltry paycheck. That’s when he turns to stripping even though he doesn’t want to initially.
Eventually “Sexy Chocolate” stars loving the money and the acclaim and adoration that comes with living in Chocolate City. While Chocolate City premiered on BET at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, BET was quick to remind their fans that they could again watch the Chocolate City encore at midnight.
