Lisa Robin Kelly, the former star of “That 70′s Show” who made headlines this week when she was arrested for spousal abuse, recently told ABC News that the story behind her arrest has been exaggerated.

Rumors about the former star’s drug problem have been circulating since her mugshot was leaked online, but Kelly insists that that she was not on drugs at the time. The actress, who played Laurie on the show, said:

“My poor mother has to see that picture… That’s not what I look like. That’s not me… There is nothing I was on or abusing at the time. Absolutely not.”

ABC reports that Kelly, now 42, was taken into custody at around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning after her ex-boyfriend John Michas called the police. Kelly was arrested for domestic abuse and was released after posting $50,000 bail.

Kelly said that Micha’s claims of abuse are false. The star wrote on Facebook:

“He must have scratched himself or done something to himself. I am clean and sober and I have made a lot of progress. I am completely innocent. I weigh 105 pounds. I could never hurt him. I just want to start working again.”

Kelly denies that drugs were connected to her most recent arrest but the star does admit that she has had problems with abuse in the past. In 2010, Lisa Robin Kelly was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She plead guilty and was sentenced to 12 months of unsupervised probation.

Kelly said that her substance abuse problem was part of the reason why she left “That 70′s Show” in 2003.

“With ‘That ’70s Show’ I was guilty of a drinking problem. And I ran.”

Kelly said that she isn’t running from her problems anymore and that she’s ready to rejuvenate her career. Kelly said:

“I am not running from this. I have paid my dues and if I can make it through this I can make it through anything.”

The former star also hinted on Twitter that she may have a new project coming up. Kelly said: “Looking forward to shooting my new project!”
