Madonna Critic Elton John Goes Off On Another ‘C’ Word Tirade

Elton John can sometimes make really controversial statements. After Madonna won Best Original Song for her hit, “Masterpiece,” at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, he became enraged and a photo of his reaction to the win showed him nearly in tears.

EltonAfter the loss, Elton bashed Madonna to interviewers at the event and his husband, David Furnish, went on a crazy Facebook rant. His words were quoted by the Hollywood Reporter.

“Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!…Thank you for all your comments and support. Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism.”

Elton himself was so upset that, according to Rolling Stone, he eventually called Madonna the “C” word in an interview with an Australian journalist Mollie Meldrum.

“She’s such a nightmare. Her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c**t.”

Elton’s statement was quite interesting, considering Madonna’s MDNA Tour was the No. 1 tour of 2012 according to Billboard. The tour wasn’t even finished when Billboard reported a total gross of $228 million. Elton John didn’t fare so well: He charted at No. 19 with a total gross of $33 million — a lot of money, but far below what Elton used to make with his shows.

Elton hasn’t been content with just calling Madonna the “C” word. According to Metro U.K., the former superstar had some harsh words for an innocent steward who was working at a show Elton was performing at this past weekend.

“You f****** stewards, who do you think you are? This is my f****** concert, who are you?’ he apparently said. Especially you with the f****** blonde ponytail, you’re a f****** c***. Yes you, this isn’t f****** China, now piss off.”

Elton’s words brought the steward to tears. To his credit, he did apologize and even brought the woman on stage and kissed her on the cheek. However, by that time, the damage was already done.

Elton has a history of rants against female performers and other women. A YouTube clip from 1999 shows Elton going ballistic on Tina Turner, who asked him to play a song she was performing a little differently. Elton stormed out of the rehearsals, but later came back in and apologized.

There have been several debates on whether Elton John should get away with his anti-female tirades just because he is gay. What do you make of Elton John’s verbal tirades? Let us know in the comments section.
