Ingrid Nilsen Comes Out As Gay In Emotional YouTube Video [Watch]
Ingrid Nilsen has come out as gay in an emotional YouTube video.
The YouTube star and judge of Lifetime’s Project Runway: Threads came out to her 3.3 million YouTube subscribers on Tuesday, revealing to them that she is gay, Business Insider reports.
“There’s something that I want you to know,” Nilsen, 26, said. “And that something is I’m gay. It feels so good to say that.”
“You have been a part of my life for the past, almost six years and this is a really big part of my life,” Ingrid, also known by her nickname “Miss Glamorazzi,” said. “I want to sit down and talk to you and have this conversation just like I’ve had this conversation with friends and people who are close to me in my life.”
Because Ingrid grew up in a rather conservative environment, she chose to hide her sexuality for fear that she would lose the support of her family and friends. However, she has decided to come out so that she can live her life to the fullest and not hide who she really is.

“This is not something that I chose,” she explained. “This something that’s a part of me and has always been a part of me.”
Ingrid did talk about her former relationships, noting that she had had several boyfriends in the past.
“I care about the people that I have been in relationships with and I respect our relationships,” Ingrid said in the clip. “The fact that I am gay does not change that.”
“I will say though that I feel really really lucky because the last man that I was with and will ever be with has just been so kind and respectful and supportive through all of this,” she continued. “And I feel really really lucky to have someone like that in my life.”
Ingrid said she is proud of who she is and will not apologize for it anymore.
“I want to live my life unapologetically because I am proud of who I am and I am not going to apologize for who I am anymore,” she said. “This is the life I have always lived in my head and now its real.”
