Anthony Mackie Married? ‘Captain America’ Star Wed Six Months Ago
Actor Anthony Mackie is a married man!
Even though the reports of his nuptials are relatively new, Mackie has actually been married now for nearly six months.
According to Hollywood Life, the 36-year-old Captain America actor married his longtime girlfriend Sheletta Chapital in December 2014.

The wedding ceremony took place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Mackie reportedly flew Chapital to the island while he was working on the George Clooney-produced film, Our Brand is Crisis starring Sandra Bullock.

With 150 guests in attendance – including close friends and family members – Anthony and Sheletta officially transitioned into the world of matrimony as husband and wife.
An inside source reportedly opened up to Page Six about the ceremony and its aftermath.
“It was low-key and super-relaxed. They had a welcome dinner. We golfed and drank. They went on a honeymoon soon after.”
Mackie and Chapital have been dating since they were 7-years-old and even have two children of their own together.
Page Six reports that the two of them dated on and off since grade school, but rekindled their romance back in 2009. At the time, Anthony Mackie was working on rebuilding homes throughout New Orleans shortly after he starred in the 2009 Oscar-winning film, The Hurt Locker.

In the months that have passed since the couple’s secret wedding, rumors about their relationship status have circulated for various reasons without any confirmation from either party.
For instance, Sheletta Chapital apparently changed her name on Facebook to Sheletta Chapital Mackie but did not make any official announcements about their nuptials. Anthony Mackie was also spotted wearing a wedding ring, but he never confirmed anything either.
Anthony Mackie is not the only celebrity actor that successfully got married away from the public eye within the past year. Lost actor Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed wed in April without revealing it to the rest of the world first. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, How to Get Away with Murder actor Charlie Weber also got married in Cabo San Lucas the same month.
Anthony Mackie will next be seen in the John Hillcoat-directed film, Triple Nine starring Woody Harrelson and Kate Winslet.
