Ellie Goulding Album Update: When Can We Expect New Music From The ‘Outside’ Singer?

Ellie Goulding may have made headlines earlier this week regarding an official announcement that named her the newest ambassador for M.A.C. Cosmetics. However, with fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of new material from the songstress, when can we expect to see new tracks from Goulding?

Goulding last spoke of her plans for the new album in an interview with Capital FM, in which she remained vague about her progress on the project. In addition, Ellie seemingly confirmed rumors that suggest her third studio release won’t be hitting shelves until 2015.

“The album’s going well. I’m just trying to take my time a bit more, this year my focus is solely about getting my record finished.”

While Ellie admits that she’s working diligently to complete the project in a timely manner, fans expressed their displeasure via social media, noting that they haven’t seen a new album from Goulding since 2013’s Halcyon.

As for when fans can expect to see Goulding’s new album in its entirety, Ellie confirmed reports that suggested the project won’t be completed until next year.

“The only big thing coming up for me now is my third album, which won’t be out until next year. Everything is going into that.”

However, Goulding has released a few new tracks in 2015, namely, her chart-topping hit from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack, “Love Me Like You Do,” KpopStarz reports.

Ellie gushed over the success she’s received from the track, explaining that she was excited to see such a positive reaction from fans.

“This song has just gone absolutely bonkers. It’s just surreal, I can’t even fathom it right now. I feel like the luckiest person in the world. When I’m like, ‘This song means everything to me, it has to do well,’ and it doesn’t do as well as I think then it’s so sad. But when I’m like, ‘Well, I hope it does good but I’m not going to go crazy about it when it doesn’t,’ and it does, I’m like, how does the psychology work on this?”

While fans eagerly await the arrival of a new album from Goulding, the singer did dish to Idolator in 2014 that she recorded vocals from Drake’s upcoming album, Views from the 6, which was announced earlier today to appear on Apple’s new music streaming service.

“We converse. He discovered my voice on his last album, he sampled it, and I think he’s become a fan through that. So who knows, something might happen.”

Perhaps we can expect a collaboration from Ellie Goulding and Drake in the near future?
