Trade In An Old Iphone 5 And Get A New Iphone 6 For Only $1: A Limited Apple Offer From Best Buy

Is upgrading from your old Apple iPhone 5 to the newer Apple iPhone 6 too expensive? Best Buy thinks it shouldn’t be.

Tech Times reports that Best Buy is offering a limited time offer for Apple fans on a budget who wish to upgrade to the newer iPhone model. Customers could trade in a working iPhone 5 with Best Buy for a gift card that can be used to purchase an iPhone 6 for only $1.

Too good to be true? Of course there’s a catch. Customers can only avail themselves of the Apple iPhone 6 offer if the buyer signs up with either Verizon Wireless or Sprint on a two-year plan along with the iPhone 6 purchase. But despite this, it’s actually a pretty decent Apple trade-in from Best Buy since an iPhone 6 would normally cost $199 on a two-year contract with different mobile providers.

Trading in an old iPhone 5 to purchase the newer iPhone 6 for a dollar could be a pretty sweet deal, but customers must also be aware that the iPhone 6 units that could be purchased with the offer only include the 16GB model. So those trading in their 64GB iPhone 5 or those wanting to get either a 32GB or 64GB iPhone 6 should rethink the offer.

The Apple trade-in offer by Best Buy is only up for a limited time. The offer started May 30 and will end on June 20, so those looking to avail themselves of the iPhone 5 trade-in should hurry to their nearest outlet now.

The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were both released in September 2014, and people were very anxious to get their hands on the product. And ever since Samsung released its newest Samsung S6 and S6 edge, Apple has started to bring their iPhone products to competitive prices and offers that could entice even non-Apple fans to switch in. This new deal with Best Buy is actually a pretty good deal, since upgrading always entails getting rid of old mobile phones.

This news follows Apple’s recent move to increase the trade-in value of some of their iPhone models, which was also met with joy by Apple users. GSM Arena reported that the trade-in value of iPhone 5 as of the moment had increased from $85 to $100, meaning those Apple users who trade-in their old iPhone 5 could get $100 off their new iPhone purchase. Like the trade-in offer by Best Buy, the increased trade-in value of old iPhone models is only available in the US and only runs for the whole month of June.
