Did Miley Cyrus Attempt To #BreakTheInternet Like Kim Kardashian Did With Her ‘Paper’ Magazine Cover?

Miley Cyrus is attempting to “break the internet” like Kim Kardashian successfully did last year. The 21-year-old pop star unveiled her very own Paper magazine cover on Sunday afternoon. It looks like she’s trying to outdo the 34-year-old reality star by posing for her very own nude photo shoot with the magazine.

No, Cyrus doesn’t twerk with a wine glass on her butt. Instead, the entertainer posed nude in mud with her pet pig, Bubba Sue. It’s obvious that Cyrus is showing off her love for animals and her love for posing in the buff on the cover of the Summer 2015 issue of the magazine. What better way to show off both of your loves than by posing naked with your pet pig?

Miley Cyrus took to Instagram on Sunday to share the shocking new cover with her fans. The magazine hits newsstands on June 22. Inside the magazine, Miley talks about her Happy Hippie Foundation, which helps homeless LGBT youth. Only one quote has been unveiled from Miley’s interview and it’s about her strange performances with the band The Flaming Lips.

“I was doing a show two nights ago. I was wearing butterfly nipple pasties and butterfly wings. I’m standing there with my t*ts out, dressed like a butterfly. How the f**k is that fair? How am I so lucky?”

Is Cyrus trying to outdo Kim Kardashian’s naked and revealing photo shoot with Paper magazine? The reality star created the hashtag #BreaktheInternet when she unveiled her very naked cover for the Winter 2014 issue of the magazine. But Kardashian had two covers for the magazine. One showed the star wearing a black gown and black elbow-length gloves as she poured wine into a glass that balanced on her infamous behind. The second cover shows Kardashian’s famous backside in the buff as she pulls down her gown.

So how did Kim Kardashian manage to break the internet? Not only did she break the internet, she managed the start the trend. Kim’s infamous “butt cover” was retweeted over 70,000 times. It also helped that the photos from the magazine were released the following night before the magazine’s release. Everyone wanted to know why Kim posed on the cover of a publication they had never heard of. It was a win-win for both Paper and Kim Kardashian.

It doesn’t look like Miley Cyrus will break the internet since people are already familiar with Paper magazine, thanks to Kim Kardashian. As of Monday evening, Miley’s cover has only been retweeted 18 times. Ouch. That hasn’t stopped fans and haters from ridiculing the former Disney star on social media though. Some slammed Miley for posing in the buff and choosing a not-so flattering photo of herself as the cover photo. Meanwhile, other fans joked that both the singer also “looks as happy as a pig in s**t.”

It’ll be interesting to see what other photos will come out of Miley Cyrus’ already provocative shoot for Paper magazine. It was reportedly shot by Paper’s creative director, Diane Martel. He was also the creative brain for Cyrus’ bizarre and somewhat iconic “We Can’t Stop” music video.
