Bart Simpson Death: ‘The Simpsons’ Will Kill Off Bart In Halloween Episode

Are The Simpsons taking a page out of Shonda Rhimes’ book? According to Entertainment Weekly, Bart Simpson will die in the upcoming Halloween episode.

Entertainment Weekly was on hand at the ATX Television Festival in Austin when the news was released. That said, his death doesn’t seem to stick, so fans of the series, you can rejoice.

When a fan asked executive produce Al Jean if Bart will return following the Halloween episode, Jean gave a short response that will settle fans’ worries.

Al Jean also had this to say when the reports of Bart Simpson’s death were running.

During the chat, Jean spoke about how this has been the ultimate payoff that has started since 1990. In an episode, Bart Simpson revealed Sideshow Bob’s plan to frame Krusty The Clown and ever since, he’s been looking for a way to get Bart back.

In The Simpsons Halloween episode, which will air in October or November, Bob has finally found a way to get back at Bart.

“You’re going to see Sideshow Bob do something he’s wanted to do for a long time,” said Jean.

“I’m one of the people that always wanted the Coyote to eat the Road Runner, so you can see where this is going. When I was a kid, I wanted the rabbit to get the Trix… I hated frustration comedy, so we’ll scratch that itch on the Halloween special.”

It’s known that the Halloween-themed episodes don’t coincide within the storylines of the rest of the seasons, but it will be a nice payoff for fans to see.

That said, it wasn’t too ridiculous that fans were worrying about Bart Simpson’s future on the series. After all, a beloved regular, Harry Shearer, who voiced Mr. Burns and Ned Flanders announced that he won’t be returning to the series.
