‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ PC Patch 1.05, PS4 Patch 1.04 Now Live, Experience Issue Addressed In Update

Players experiencing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC and Playstation 4 can download the latest patch today. The update fixes a number of issues affecting the RPG including one that was suppressing experience gain from select quests.

Many players are being prompted to download the patch when booting up The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt right now. The Community Lead at CD Projekt Red announced the release of the patch on his personal Twitter account. The game’s official account later verified that the patch is indeed live on PC and PS4.

Patch 1.05 is now live on PC with updates to the variety of loot dropped within the game, fixes to players not being able to speak to certain NPCs, improvements to the way the protagonist swims, and many others. The full list of patch notes can be found on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt official forums.

The latest update on PS4 is patch 1.04 and includes many of the same fixes found in the PC patch. Improvements were made to the “scale of selected elements” on the HUD on the platform while many fixes to combat, horseback riding, and in-game communities have been rectified. A handy list of PS4 patch notes has been provided on the PS4 subreddit.

Notable changes found in both the PC and PS4 patch include the fixes to low-level quest experience and new colorblind features. Not to mention, the game will now generate journal entries on downloaded content.

“Adds a series of color-blind friendly features. Improves visibility of tracks, marks, footprints and scent clues. Color-blind friendly features can be enabled in the OptionsGamplay [sic] submenu.”

As the Inquisitr cited, many quests were granting no experience upon completion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Although many quests were designed to offer little to no experience as the player out-leveled them, some quests were still not properly giving experience as intended. With the 1.05 and 1.04 patch, players on PC and PS4 should see experience gains, albeit low, on grey quests more reliably now due to this specific fix.

“Improves the distribution of experience points gained by completing quests with recommended levels lower than the player character level.”

The PC and PS4 patches are live now in the United States and Europe right now, however, the remaining regions in which The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available will get the update next week. According to CD Projekt Red’s Community Lead, Xbox One players will also have to wait until next week for the patch in all regions.
