Jennifer Bassey Kicked Off Flight: 72-Year-Old Actress Accused Of Assault
Jennifer Bassey was kicked off a flight, as she reportedly assaulted a Delta flight attendant. According to reports, the argument began when the flight attendant reminded the 72-year-old actress to flush the toilet and wash her hands — as she had just used the restroom.
In an interview with TMZ, Bassey said she was making her way back to her seat when the attendant “loudly” reminded her to flush the toilet. The attendant then proceeded to admonish the All My Children actress, as she also failed to wash her hands.
Bassey said the attendant followed her to her seat, where she asked the actress to turn off her laptop — as the pilot was preparing for takeoff.
Amid the growing tension, Jennifer Bassey and the flight attendant reportedly bumped hands. The actress said the unintentional contact prompted the attendant to shout: “don’t touch me, don’t you ever touch me.” In response, Bassey reportedly said: “go f**k yourself.”
As reported by Daily Mail, authorities were called to the scene and Bassey was escorted off the plane by law enforcement officials. Although the incident was reported as an assault, authorities said the flight attendant did not appear to be injured.

Delta representatives said the incident is currently under investigation. Jennifer Bassey said she hopes the flight attendant loses her job, as she was not at fault.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Joan “Jennifer” Bassey studied acting at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Following graduation, the budding actress appeared in several Off-Broadway productions throughout the late 1940s.
In 1951, Bassey landed her first role in a soap opera. Over the next 30 years, she would appear in several popular daytime dramas, including Love of Life, The Edge of Night, and Somerset.

As reported by IMDB, Jennifer Bassey began doing contract work for All My Children in 1970. Thirteen years later, she was hired as a member of the regular cast.
Over the next 18 years, Bassey appeared in 98 episodes of the iconic soap opera. Following the cancellation of All My Children in 2011, the actress has appeared in Body of Proof and Grey’s Anatomy.
Throughout her career, the talented actress won Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1998 and 1999. She was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1999.
Jennifer Bassey’s issue with the flight attendant put her back in the spotlight after a brief acting hiatus. According to reports, the Delta flight was scheduled to travel from New York to Indianapolis.
