WWE News: WWE Creative Team High On Kevin Owens, Do Not Want To Give John Cena The Win At ‘Money In The Bank’

WWE Superstar Kevin Owens has made a huge impact since making his debut on the main roster last month. Not only did he drop the face of the WWE in John Cena on his first night, but he then beat the 15 time World Champion in a match cleanly. There are few people who beat Cena, even fewer do it cleanly. Those who have go on to become major stars in WWE or already are.

People like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk benefited from the victory over Cena. So Kevin Owens looked impressive and put on a 5 star classic with Cena that gave us all we could have wanted from the highly anticipated match. The WWE creative team has taken notice of Owens, which is why he is being booked as the number two heel in the company only behind the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. He comes off big that way and could become a champion of some kind in WWE very quickly.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the WWE creative wants to book John Cena differently these days. They feel that it would be wrong to just give Cena his win back at the Money in the Bank PPV. They don’t want it to be a foregone conclusion that every time Cena loses, he gets the win right back. However, if WWE wants to stretch this rivalry into WWE Battleground….Cena has to win at least one. That way, WWE can give us the rubber match that we all expect.

Clearly WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon will make the ultimate decision on whether or not to give Cena the win or loss. For what it’s worth though, there are a lot of people behind the idea of not having Owens lose this quick into his WWE main roster run.

Another thing too here is that usually Cena doesn’t lose cleanly to a heel. The heel finds ways to bend the rules and get around the problem that is John Cena. However, Kevin Owens didn’t do that at Elimination Chamber. So putting him out there to lose doesn’t make much sense when you know that if Owens can win without cheating. All he has to do is cheat if he gets caught up in an issue to win like a heel would do.

Kevin Owens and John Cena put on a good match, so there is a hope that we can see a couple more matches just like it. The only issue comes down to the idea that WWE has booked Cena the same way for a decade. So the WWE creative team clearly wants to change things, not just to help Owens, but to switch up the character of John Cena a bit. This is something fans want anyway, so why not start here?
