‘Bones’ Spoilers: Booth And Brennan’s Relationship Problems And Angela and Hodgins’ ‘Concrete’ Plans

Is there hope for Booth and Brennan’s relationship in the final episodes of Bones‘ Season 10? They are currently struggling, as she found out about his gambling relapse — not from him, but from his bookie, Jimmy, to whom he owed money. When Booth returned home after that, she kicked him out of the house. So what’s next for them? Plus, will Angela and Hodgins really leave the Jeffersonian behind and move to Paris?

As the Inquisitr previously reported, recent episodes of Bones Season 10 have been dealing with Booth’s gambling relapse, with the latest episode, “The Woman in the Whirlpool,” seeing Booth finally sharing at a gamblers anonymous meeting after coming up with excuses not to for most of the episode.

“My name is Seeley, and I have a gambling addiction. I’m here today because I want to make things right. I want to get my life back. You see, I’ve hurt a lot of people in my life, especially my family. I’ve betrayed them and put them in danger. So I’m here to find a sense of resolution with that so I can better understand myself.”

TVLine spoke to executive producer Stephen Nathan about Booth and Brennan’s current arc, and he explained that the recent episodes were about dealing with the “emotional difficulty” of what Booth has done and seeing what it means heading into the season finale.

“It’s unfolding in a very realistic and upsetting way for these two characters. Brennan is a very practical, rational person and understands the risks. Maybe in the past, this would have been a very cold decision for her. The logic she uses on a daily basis certainly comes into play, but there is real pain and difficulty involved in this for her. It’s torturous because she truly loves Booth. So we had to find a way to deal with that and deal with a very, very proud man in Booth coming to terms with admitting to himself how enormous an act this was and how far-reaching the consequences.”

Things have been very tense between Booth and Brennan, and everyone has noticed – and Hodgins’ attempt to offer some help and talk to Brennan in the lab about the current situation doesn’t go over so well in the Bones Season 10 Episode 21 sneak peek posted by TV Guide. After that, no one is going to ask a question (if they even have one) when Brennan asks if there’s anything anyone wants to know. The best thing they can do is focus on their work and the latest case.

In more light-hearted news, Angela and Hodgins may be leaving the Jeffersonian behind, as Nathan told TVLine that their plans for Paris have become “much more concrete” than before.

“It’s a very real choice now. Money has been exchanged. They’re going. That’s what they’re doing. Again, it’s our expectations [with] our characters that get us in to trouble, because they don’t always behave as we expect them to.”

Speaking of going international, Hodgins discovers Angela’s real name in the clip posted by E! News from this next Bones episode, because he finds her passport and opens it. Yes, that question is finally being answered – and it only took until the show reached Season 10 for it to happen. Watch the sneak peek below to find out Angela’s real name.

Bones Season 10 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
