Olympic Game Farm: Famous Waving Bear Catches A Slice Of Bread With One Paw [Video]

The Olympic Game Farm is known for its famous “waving bears.” The bears in the park have been trained to wave back at visitors in the park. There are numerous videos of the famous “waving bears” online, but a video uploaded earlier this week shows not only the wave but also a pretty impressive one-pawed catch by the giant Kodiak bear.

In the video you see a woman named Kayleigh waving at the Kodiak bear from inside her vehicle. The woman has her window rolled down and she can be seen waving frantically as the vehicle slows to a stop. After a few waves and some encouragement, the giant bear sits back on two legs, lifts its left paw and begins to wave at the giddy Kayleigh. As a reward for his perfectly performed wave, the woman then tosses the bear a piece of wheat bread. Without skipping a beat, the bear extends its right paw and catches the bread like it is the most natural thing in the world. Kayleigh cheers for the bear and the video is over.

The Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, Washington, is known for their waving Kodiak bears. The bears have been trained to wave back at visitors but they expect a treat in return. Therefore, the park suggests tossing the bears a piece of wheat bread after they perform their trick. That is exactly what is happening in this video, but no one expected the large bear to catch the bread with such ease.

According to the farm’s website, the Olympic Game Farm worked exclusively for Walt Disney Studios for 28 years. However, after Walt Disney passed away, the studio moved away from live animal features. Therefore, the founders of Olympic Game Farm, Lloyd and Catherine Beebe, retired from the filming industry and focused solely for caring for their animal actors, concentrating on offering “in need” captive-bred animals a new and loving home.
