Rita Ora is back with her first single release in over a year and 24-year-old Rita is on fire in a dramatic video she just dropped to support the release. The platinum blonde pop princess sizzles her way through the smoking hot video for the newly released track called “Poison.” What is more the rumour mill has it that Rita may just have written the song about her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris who is loved up with Taylor Swift.
The Daily Mail reports that Rita’s new video is strong on narrative as it shows Rita seemingly breaking free of a jealous and controlling relationship. Rita models a succession of sexy and revealing outfits as she works her way through the catchy power ballad.
The video shows Rita developing a taste for an expensive celebrity lifestyle as she takes part in numerous photo-shoots with a party loving photographer friend who picks her from obscurity on the streets. Following a Hollywood style makeover Rita has a steamy relationship with a handsome model, but heartbreak is just around the corner. Rita walks in on her photographer friend who is taking steamy snaps of one of her friends. This prompts a tearful Rita to flee the scene whilst one of the photographers portraits of her goes up in smoke and flames.
According to Billboard Rita recently explained that “Poison” which opens with the line “I pick my poison and it’s you” was written about a “toxic” relationship. Ora has never confirmed that it refers directly to Calvin Harris but it is widely believed that this is the case.
The Daily Mirror meanwhile reports that Rita avoided another potentially embarrassing run in with Calvin Harris last night. Rita was honored by the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards where she picked up the gong for “Personality of the Year.” Harris was at the ceremony where he was awarded the “Man of the Year” title. Harris was in attendance to collect his award but Rita accepted her award by video as she was busy with other work commitments.
Rita will doubtless have been pleased to have avoided Harris after she was forced to sit through his public love in with girlfriend Taylor Swift at last months Billboard music awards.
Rita was reportedly visibly upset at the recent BBC Radio 1 “Big Weekend” when she performed “I Will Never Let You Down“, the track she created with Calvin Harris. You wouldn’t blame Calvin if he was just a little bit envious when he sees Rita Ora sizzle her way through her new release.
