‘Fallout 4’ Fan Reaction From The Official Announcement Varied

To say Fallout 4 has been one of the most hotly anticipated games of the last few years would be an extreme understatement. Fans have been waiting a long time for the oft-rumored sequel to the 2008 hit Fallout 3 to be officially confirmed by Bethesda, and now that it has, the reaction has actually been mixed.

Fans on Twitter are usually some of the most vocal, especially thanks to the direct pipeline to developers and studios it offers. Fallout 4 was announced an hour ago (as of publication) and already, there were over 200 thousand tweets talking about the game. So what did those fans have to say?

Some fans used the Fallout 4 hype to make some great jokes, as well.

Not everyone was as excited with the Fallout 4 reveal, however. Many pointed to Fallout New Vegas as a disappointment, while others bemoaned the look of the “in-game” footage, saying it looks like Fallout 3.

Over the years since Fallout 3 and New Vegas’ release, reddit has been a great place for Fallout fans to talk about their shared interest. In that time, gamers have come together to talk about what Fallout 4 might be like, as well as discussing the various leaks and rumors surrounding the post-apocalyptic game. Since the official reveal, the official Fallout subreddit has turned into both a place of celebration and continued speculation.

Fallout 4, by all accounts, looks like it’s set in Boston, and has been the game most eagerly sought by Bethesda fans since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released in 2011. All one has to do is look at any official Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited tweet or Doom video from Bethesda and undoubtedly you’ll find Fallout 4 pleas.

While no release date has been set for Fallout 4, fans eager to learn more can make sure to catch the first-ever Bethesda E3 Showcase at E3 June 14 at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST. Fallout 4 was speculated to be center of the presentation, though fans will likely see Doom, though some rumors are putting the yet-unannounced Dishonored 2 off the E3 showcase docket.

Whatever your reaction, one thing is for certain: the Internet really wants Fallout 4. What is your reaction to the Fallout 4 trailer? Excited? Cautiously optimistic about Fallout 4? Sound off in the comments below.
