Maci Bookout Discusses Fertility Struggles During ‘Teen Mom OG’ Reunion [Video]

Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney welcomed their first child together on Friday, but the months leading up to their daughter’s arrival were a bit difficult. During the upcoming Teen Mom OG: Reunion special, as reported by People Magazine on June 1, Maci Bookout discussed the moments leading up to her and McKinney’s “unplanned pregnancy.”

Following the birth of her first child, son Bentley, Maci Bookout was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, which makes it difficult to conceive. In turn, the reality star was forced to make a choice: She either continue on with her birth control regimen, even though it likely meant she would have a “really difficult” time conceiving another child — or would not be able to conceive at all, or stop taking her pill, and allow herself to possibly conceive a child naturally.

“I stopped taking my birth control because I felt like this was something [Taylor and I] both really wanted together, and we didn’t really want to prevent it any more than it was already being prevented naturally.”

Within a short time after stopping her birth control regimen, Maci Bookout discovered she and McKinney were expecting. Now, after welcoming daughter Jayde Carter on May 29, two weeks prior to Maci Bookout’s due date, the couple is “moving toward” marriage.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Maci Bookout and McKinney have yet to become engaged, but they recently bought a home together, which fans witnessed on Teen Mom OG. Speaking of their new place during a Featured Moment clip, Maci Bookout said their new pad was perfect — at least for now.

“Our house is exactly what we were looking for. Luckily, we really didn’t have to compromise too much on our wants and needs. What we got was really what we were looking for. My hopes for our future in the house is just that we don’t grow out of it too fast, we continue to like it, or love it, as much as we do now. I have a tendency to get over things really quickly, so I’m hoping I stay content with it for a few years at least.”

Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney have been dating for over two years, and Bookout has been very vocal about wanting to marry McKinney in recent weeks.
