Allison Janney and James Corden proved that sometimes, a kiss isn’t just a kiss. The couple managed to turn heads at an event where celebrities sizzled throughout the room. But Janney and Corden took over when they seemed to exude steam with a passionate lip lock, reported People.

It all took place at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards on Sunday when Allison received the award for best supporting actress in a comedy from James.

“The award goes to, I think, one of the best actresses I’ve ever met,” said the gallant actor.

Happily shocked at the announcement, Janney received first a bow and then the kiss from Corden.

The two also played around on stage, as shown below, keeping the tone as light as Allison’s comedy series, Mom.

Host of the awards show Cat Deeley, known for her So You Think You Can Dance charm, declared that the steamy kiss was the high point of the night.

But she might have been modest, because Cat also won her own Critics Choice award as host for the dance competition, reported the Daily Mail.

In addition to Cat’s and Allison’s wins, Empire actress Taraji P. Henson took home the Best Actress in a Drama Series as Cookie Lyon, while American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson received Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Limited Series.

Others earning loud cheers from the audience were, for best actor in a comedy series, Jeffrey Tambor in Transparent, and best actress in a comedy series winner Amy Schumer, for Inside Amy Schumer, reported Time.

Transparent also earned honors for Bradley Whitford, who couldn’t stop grinning as he received the best guest performer in a comedy series award.

But although Transparent was in the comedy series category, star Jeffrey Tambor spoke out seriously about Bruce Jenner and his decision to go public about his transition from male to female, as the Inquisitr reported.

“I think Jenner has a right to do what Jenner wants to do, and the way Jenner wants to do it. I don’t think we should say, ‘Oh, you have to come out this way, or you have to come out this way.’ It’s not fair,” said Jeffrey.
