Grey’s Anatomy: Life After Derek

Grey’s Anatomy‘s most lovable character died and fans are going to live with the consequences. It’s always hard to accept your favorite’s death in series or in the books, so it’s no wonder that fans even started a petition to bring Dr. Derek back.

Unfortunately, according to the Inquisitr, it’s not going to change a thing for the future of the Grey’s Anatomy.

“As for the success of the petition, while it continues to gain momentum and supporters, it seems unlikely that any real change will come from it. The episode has been aired (along with follow-up episodes which mean the Gray’s Anatomy death scene can’t simply be written off as a dream sequence) and presumably now-former Gray’s Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey has moved on to bigger and better things.”

There would be some hope left – after all, unexpected random twists happen, but according to Hollywood Life, the actor who played “McDreamy” already got plans for the new TV show.

“In all-is-right-in-the-world-news, Patrick Dempsey wants to return to television. And here’s the best part: it could happen as early as this fall!

The actor is deep in discussions to find a good fit for the upcoming primetime season and, sources say, it is totally possible that he could join a show slated for the fall. It is “Not too late at all,” a network executive revealed to Entertainment Weekly. “I can definitely see him ending up on something in the fall.”

There are many other plot lines on the show and many other interesting characters. TV Line reports that the producers of the show are searching for a replacement for Dr. Derek, and though the new actor will definitely need to put all his efforts into gaining same affection from the audience – who knows, perhaps the fans will accept him straight away:

“According to fresh casting intel, Shonda Rhimes & Co. are searching for a ‘name’ actor in his late 30s to late 40s to portray the series-regular role of a doctor. Among the requirements of said performer: He must be good-looking, charismatic and believable as a surgeon.

Rhimes acknowledged back in April that “the entire Grey’s Anatomy family” is entering “uncharted territory as we head into this new” post-Derek era, adding that, “The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey would say: the carousel never stops turning.”

In any case, Grey’s Anatomy TV show isn’t anywhere near its ending; so the fans should realize that it was good while it lasted, let “McDreamy” go and look forward to new series and heroes.
