Bill O’Reilly Tops Cable News Ratings Again As He Prepares Book On Ronald Reagan

Bill O’Reilly may be accused of being a bad husband, a bad father, a bad liar, and even a bad cable television news host. However, nobody can accuse the Fox News star of having bad ratings.

According to Zap2It, Bill O’Reilly had 2.75 million viewers on Thursday evening, beating Fox anchor Megyn Kelly, who had 2.25 million viewers. Both O’Reilly and Kelly easily trampled their competition. CNN’s Anderson Cooper had only 626,000 viewers and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews had a paltry 529,000 viewers.

Bill O’Reilly was still the king of the ratings the previous evening, where he had 2.69 million viewers. Megyn Kelly, his closest competitor, had 2.31 million viewers. Chris Matthews had 615,000 viewers and Anderson Cooper had 557,000 viewers.

Bill O’Reilly’s fans will be happy to know that he is working on a book about his idol, Ronald Reagan. CNN Money first reported the news.

“The Fox News host revealed on Tuesday that the next installment of his enormously successful book series on the deaths and assassination plots of historical figures will focus on the 40th president. ‘Killing Reagan’ will hit shelves on September 22.”

CNN Money goes on to quote Bill O’Reilly talking about his new project, indicating that the book will be controversial since new surprising information will be revealed. Killing Reagan will likely be another success for Bill O’Reilly’s “Killing” series, which includes Killing Kennedy and Killing Jesus. O’Reilly’s critics have called his books a joke, but it’s obvious that his fans love what Bill O’Reilly has to say and uncovers about his favorite subjects.

In other good news for O’Reilly, Variety reports that Fox News had renewed his Legends and Lies series.

Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly announced Thursday night on his ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ program that ‘Legends and Lies: The Real West,’ on which he serves as executive producer, will get a second season…According to Nielsen, ‘Legends & Lies: The Real West’ is averaging 1.2 million total viewers, including 208,000 in the adults 25-54 demo. It airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on FNC.”

Once again, Bill O’Reilly’s detractors are having a field day with the Legends and Lies title, especially given the controversy surrounding whether or not O’Reilly was in a “war zone” during the Falkland’s War. In fact, according to the Huffington Post, a book titled Killing Truth: The Lies And Legends Of Bill O’Reilly is about to released. Even though the book deals with several alleged lies O’Reilly made on his show, it’s likely that, as usual, Bill O’Reilly will be laughing himself all the way to the bank.
