Charlie Sheen Apologizes For His Strange “Winning” Phase [Video]

Charlie Sheen sat down for an interview with Today host Matt Lauer this week where he apologize for his strange “winning” meltdown phase, an act he now calls “a little cringeable.”

Sheen revealed to Lauer that he recently watch all of the footage of himself from that time to which he responded:

“I didn’t recognize parts of who that guy was.”

In the meantime Sheen appears ready to move on and make his comeback with the upcoming FX show Anger Management. Speaking about his plan for a comeback Sheen revealed:

“I really didn’t really have a plan” for how to make a comeback … I guess the plan was to just reintroduce myself to America and to the media and say, ‘Sorry about that, but here’s what’s happening now.'”

Charlie Sheen also tells Lauer that he couldn’t end his TV career on a bad note with Two and a Half Men. As Sheen puts it:

“I couldn’t have the Two and a Half thing be my television legacy … I couldn’t have it end on that note. So if this is going to be the swan song, then it’s got to be a beautiful experience. And so far, eight days (on Anger) was more fun than eight years (at Men).”

Regardless of his past Sheen still finds time to joke about his new TV gig, when asked if there will be drug testing at his new FX home Sheen responds:

“There’s no testing unless something obvious happens—I show up covered in blood; somebody else’s.”

I’m sure if its Tiger blood that’s covering the TV stars body producers will let it slide.

Here’s the Matt Lauer interview with Charlie Sheen:

In the meantime Anger Management will premiere on FX this June 28.
