Assassin’s Creed III On Track To Be Ubisoft’s Most Pre-Ordered Game Ever

Assassin’s Creed III was formally announced just a few weeks ago, but Ubisoft is already saying that the final chapter in the Assassin’s Creed trilogy is already on track to become the most pre-ordered title in the company’s history.

Ubisoft pulled back the curtains on Assassin’s Creed III earlier this month, and in the short few weeks that the title has been available for pre-ordering, Ubisoft says that Assassin’s Creed III already has more pre-orders–1o times more, to be exact–than any other game in the series.

If that’s not impressive enough for you, Ubisoft also said that Assassin’s Creed III has already surpassed the life-to-date pre-order numbers for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Ubisoft expects that by E3 this June, Assassin’s Creed III will match, if not surpass, its current pre-order record holder, Assassin’s Creed Revelations.

“On October 30th players will experience the biggest game launch in Ubisoft’s history with the highly anticipated release of Assassins Creed III,” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft.

“With a development cycle of three years, Assassins Creed III is the true next-generation experience of the Assassins Creed brand. The production value of the game, combined with the biggest marketing commitment we’ve ever made, will make Assassins Creed III the highest-selling Assassin’s Creed game ever. Additionally, the new setting and hero makes this the perfect time to jump into the series for anyone that has not previously played an Assassin’s Creed game.”

Assassin’s Creed III is set to release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 30. A Wii U release will follow at some point after that.
